Medical Student Essay Prize in Rare Inherited Anaemias 2016

We would like to invite 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students at the University of Oxford to submit an essay on the topic of rare inherited anaemias.
The two topics of choice are:
“Please write an essay on any of the rare inherited anaemias (eg.  Diamond Blackfan anaemia, Congenital Dyserythropoietic Anaemia, Sideroblastic Anaemia, red cell membrane abnormalities, red cell enzyme abnormalities or any of the haemoglobinopathies).  This can deal with the pathogenesis, diagnosis or management of these conditions.”
OR
“Please write an essay comparing the research priorities for rare anaemias (eg.  Diamond Blackfan anaemia, Congenital Dyserythropoietic Anaemia, Sideroblastic Anaemia, red cell membrane abnormalities or red cell enzyme abnormalities) with the research priorities for the haemoglobinopathies”.
The winning entry will be awarded £300 and will be published on the CAN website.
Please keep the main text of your submission to within 2,000 words which must be typed in a standard type such as Arial with a minimum font size of 10 points.  Hand written submissions are not acceptable.
